| hey guys, i'm an accidental air gun owner. it first started with a crossman pump killing soda cans and an unluck bird every now and again. Bought a gamo did a little research and realized it was crap so i bought the hw 97k in .22. Here comes the questions when i bought the gun from Air Gun of arizona the sales man said "it's the cadillac of springers" now here i am on the forums and i see more talk of rws than my 97k. did i get suckered into buyin this gun?? and i dont seem to see alot of other forum members with wierauch 97k. i shoot pigeons and doves with it. Could this gun dispatch bigger small game like raccoons and yotes??? hey im a NYC kid don't know the first thing bout hunting but i'll love to go into the desert some dat and od some damage. any input on which is the better gun or more powerfull will be apprieciated. thanks guy |

Yes, now give it to me. You clearly need something cheape... eerrrr, better. 
Now, Weihrauch has a very deserved quality image. Good rifles, a lot of bang for your buck (for a lot of buck). These rifles are match-grade with a good tuning (some people already win matches with these without tuning).
The trigger is the best on the market. Find something better for the same price and I'll personally go and buy it.  |

Nothing wrong with the Weihrauch- but their entire line is a bit on the pricey side of things, whereas the Diana/RWS are typically an overall better value, dollar-for-dollar, on the money spent.
This is not a "knock"- but think of it using the same metaphor as the salesman: a car. If the Weihrauch is the "Cadillac", this doesn't mean it's the best value for the money, necessarily. Perhaps a Mercury or a Buick gets a better "value" rating due to a lower price- doesn't mean there is anything "wrong" with the Cadillac, it's just a slightly different marketspace. |

The price difference isn't as big over here, so I guess it also has a little bit to do with that.
I'd like to add that you will never find syntetics on a Weihrauch, but will find them on a Diana.  |

| thanks alot guys, for a while i was thinking about giving the hw97 back for the rws because every1 seem to have one. think i'll keep my 97. the gun is bearly a month old and i havent even put 600 pellets thru it yet, should i get it tuned or wait till i run a few tins thru. what should i expect of the gun when its tuned?? and what is syntetics on the RWS??? THANKS ALOT FOR BEING PATIENT WITH ME.. |
