where ya from? can you shoot inside your city/town limits?

i'm from south west mo city of joplin. i got the police called on me a few years back when i first got my 2240. guess a neighbor thought i was shooting a real pistol. they came out told me it wasn't against the law to shoot a bb gun inside city limits. told me to be careful tho.

I'm from the "Cereal" State."land of the fruits, nuts, and flakes".Oh yeah...also known as Ca.Generally inside city limits is a no no.from what I gather as long as your outside the city in an unincorporated area of the county your okay.San Francisco"an hours dirve south of me".. is a different matter...no air guns period. The law in S.F came to being because, way back in the day, when there was horse drawn buggies, kids would shoot the horses in the a$$,and it would cause a ruckus. The law was never re written,as times changed. It's okay for a person to posses a .44 magnum,or assault 12 gauge in S.F.,but no air guns.....go figure..... Pflugerville, Texas says air guns, pellet, BB or airsoft are the same as fire arms and illegal to fire within the city limits so I go to an old quarry 30 miles outside of town and shoot there.

Waseca, Minnesota says no airguns, pellet or BB, within the city limits.

The exception: Discharge is legal for organizations with training or educational purposes provided they get city council permission for the venue. They did that so my 4H kids could use the exhibit building at the fairgrounds.

If you don't want to draw attention with questions you can probably find the city codes in the public library.

It's not legal in eaton ohio, but it is a projectile device, so everything from a slingshot to a crossbow is illegal. I shoot in my backyard anyway. I live in a retiree part of town and most of the old men like that I keep the starlings away from their bird feeders. Hell, they buy me ammo and co2 caplets!

I've got one neighbor that has a 2260 and we sit in the back yard and plink at starlings all evening long. I have one beer to his 4 and he is still as good a shot as I am. Boozing It He can't beat me on the 35+ shots, mainly because he is blind as a bat. lol But I got him a good 6-14 leapers scope and he does just fine now.

I think in the US it may be hard for the law to convict for shooting in your own home unless it is a case of disturbing the peace with noise.

I live in memphis and YOU CAN shoot bb and pellet guns in the city. we go to a city park by the river that has been closed due to crime for the past 7 years, it's all grown up now and is a great place to squirrel hunt.

Even if it is illegal to shoot a airgun in your home, most people wouldn't care and look the other way.

I'm not saying break any laws here. Just wondering how many are followed by people.

Here on the peninsula anything goes. Firearms and airguns are OK to shoot as
long as you don't hurt anyone or damage property. The Sheriff will come out
and give you a talking to if it is too late and you are discharging
big firearms.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal in my city, but I have never been reported. Hundreds of people have driven down route 40 and seen a shirtless, bandana'd young wild man with something that looks like a sniper rifle, perched on the landing and drinking beer at 0<0600 hours, and never said a word.

Des Moines, Iowa...last I knew, and recently, it was not illegal as long as you did not shoot towards a building, etc.
