Thought I'd throw this in for someone looking for an inexpensive gun or those having problems with it.

Combo means scope and .177 and .22 barrel. Can be found with a carrying case in some instances.

Review:
Will include the usual problems you face with the gun.
-Very nice-looking gun.
-Shoots OK with stock sights. Has elevation and windage adjustments. Plastic sights.
-The scope will move around and seem like it may be useless.
-Scope is extremely clear and has ocular adjustment.
-.177 barrel is erratic (at first)
-.22 barrel shoots well out of the box.
-A little heavy. That may actually be good in a springer.
-Some say it is hard to cock. I find it just fine.

Fixes:
-clean up the crown of both barrels. A good many 'slags' in the end of the barrels. Easy to do. Search for how to do this(Sticky post at top of "Rifles" forum).
-blue Loctite the scope mount bolts.
-that is it!

Shoots great. Great value for the $$.

Also, loctite the barrel set screw. I found that mine came loose after a lot of shots.

I have had a lot of trouble with mine, I'm sure some here remember my comments in a few of my few posts here. Now that I've not messed with it in a week or so and I'm not frustrated anymore I'm thinking of getting it back out of the closet. If I do, I will put the .22 barrel on it and just use open sights. I prefer open sights over a scope anyway in most cases, I'm just weird like that.

One problem that developed on mine was that it became very hard to cock, actually cocking was OK, it was the initial "break-over" that was hard. Something seems to be wrong with the latching mechanism that holds the barrel closed. I'm going to try greasing it with regular mechanical grease, and I'll post here the results.

Nice to hear it's working out for you.

My super streak has the same problem when opening the barrel. Not a problem really, it keeps it locked when you're in the woods. I've gotten used to it and can open and cock it in the same motion now.

I worked with my 1073 a little bit today, and here's a few helpful things that I found. I packed grease in around the spring loaded ball latch thing that holds the barrel closed and that made it infinitely easier to cock. It cocks like it did when it was brand new... 2 months ago. I also found that the front stock screws were loose, so I tightened them. I then put the .22 barrel on it and took it out to shoot it with open sights only. Once sighted in it holds a 1-2 inch group at 30 yard with the occasional wild shot that goes way off in one direction or another. What I need to do next is take out the stock screws and use some loctite on them along with the barrel screw again. I'm also wondering about crowning the breech like you would with the muzzle, because mine looks a little irregular. I have a drill press and various grinding stones and of course I can do what is outlined in the barrel crowning link over in the rifle forum. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

So the things I recommend so far are:

Loctite on the stock screws and barrel set screw.
Grease the barrel latch ball thing... what is the proper name of that part?

So I went ahead and crowned the breech just like you would with the muzzle and it seems to have helped a lot. Also I found that my bore had some rust, I did not expect that on a brand new gun, so scrub your bore out really good with a bore brush. After I had the barrel all cleaned out I sprayed some silicone dry lube down the barrel. I know that that is unconventional, but I thought having some lube in there would help increase velocity a little and protect from further rusting. So those are my tips for the day. If this gun will continue performing like it has today then I will call it fixed and just leave it as is.
