i have both of theese hand guns and wanted to give my first impressions. i like both and at this time cannot decide which i like better.

1. the sights are better on the beretta then the cp88. the beretta thus far is much more accurate then the cp88. i am shooting about 20 ft and the beretta has seriously tight goups off hand dime size with only one large hole, all bullets touching eachother. the cp88 has silver dollar size groups . i have ordered the adjustable sights for the cp88 and i hope that will corret the problem, on the stock sights the front sight has a very wide opening compared to the size of the rear blade .
2. the cp88 fits better in the hand because the beretta is very wide
3. the lever to open the ejector on the beretta is far nicer then on the cp88. on the beretta you press the lever down and the ejector opens, but on the cp88 you have to push it down so the ejector opens halfway, then push it back up and the ejector will be open all the way.
4. the cp88 is much more powerful then the beretta! i dont have a chrono but can easily tell by the fact that i hold both guns to wood and shoot both at the same time both with same pellets at same distance with 2 fresh co2 and the cp88 pellets will embed in the wood but the beretta will ricochet. the cp88 pellets are much more deformed then the berettas and i tried this both ways in single and double action and the cp88 always hits harder. i will be looking into the hammer spring on the beretta to see if it is week and needs to be upgraded?
5.i cant compare finish because my 92fs is nickel and my cp88 is blued but i wish now i got the cp88 in nickel. the grips are both wood and the grips on the cp88 are nicer wheras the beretta grips the checkering is horrible.
6.the trigger on the beretta is good , but the cp8 trigger sucks!!! this also could be contributing to my accuracy problem. i will soon be trying to do a trigger job on this pistol but will leave the beretta stock as i like it.
again, i cant decide which i like better but the cp88 will definitely need more work. i guess what i loke most about my cp88 is the 6 inch barrel which is not avaiable on the beretta and i like the thinner grip on the cp88, it fits better in the hands.

just my .02 cents, i welcome all comments

If the Beretta is accurate, that's all that counts. Neither should be used to kill anything.

What's the magazine capacity on both of them?

I have the CP88 and find you comments spot on, mine shot about the same as yours but with a bit of modding it now shoots 12mm groups at 5 meters.

With great difficulity!

You could try unrolling a similar size spring and re-bending it to fit.

This is a CP88 split in two the small coil spring with the long extenion is fastned to the hammer, by increasing the strength of this spring the power out put should go up by a small amount.

Be warned that these guns are not the easiest to strip down and re-assemble.

Very Happy A few years ago, I owned a CP88 with the 6" barrel, nickel plating, and wood grips. It was a beautiful gun, but I sold it because of the lack of accuracy(it is actually a revolver), velocity variation due to temperature, and the zinc-on-zinc bearing parts. During the summer my hot hands would raise the temperature(and pressure) of the CO2 to the point where the hammer couldn't open the valve.

The CP88 is, however, excellent for rapid-fire firearms simulation and practice. It is not good for precision shooting.
