Ok, so I thought i'd leave it to the pro's to tell me what I need. I've looked and looked and I'm not sure what i'm really looking at.

I know I need Co2, I want to shoot sparrow at 20 yards maybe more, and I can't afford to miss as i'm in the city.

I have a scope, so a sightless gun would be fine, plus I'll hypothetically be using a silencer, so it has to be quite.

Accuracy is a MAJOR factor, but price is limiting me.

I would like to stay at 250, but all I can find that would be suitable are 500 such as the condores, air arms, and sheridan marauder

Any ideas? I know I want more gun than I can afford, but I'm hoping for a good find.

I'm on the fence for caliber, but again, i'm in the city right now and my neighbors contraband bird feeder is making my life miserable as an insomniac.

An inexpensive CO2-powered, suppressed rifle- does anyone make such an animal?

If you remove the suppressor/silencer idea, things open up quite a bit.

Yeah, that's not really possible, and the silencer would be home made. I have good designs, and the skills to do it.

suggestions? If I need a higher price range, I might be able to, but it's difficult to justify.

break action spring pistons are out, I know that much

Am I at least looking at the right rifles?

For Co2-powered, not too pricey, looked at the AirMagnum 850:

You should be able to get a Crosman custom shop 22XX for about that. Fit it with a 1399 shoulder stock and Lothar Walther barrel. A long steel breech and decent optic (probably a Leaper's Bugbuster). Should go just about $250. Maybe have it shipped to MAC-1 for a power and accuracy tune ($50 combined total) and you have winner.

Silencers are pretty much illegal in the US, so be careful. In the UK it's not a problem.

I doubt over the noise in the city, anyone would really hear the minimal sound.

rifle very accurite...
A good pumper would be OK aswell..maybe a Crosman 1377 with
stock...The good thing with the pumper is you can very the power
with the number of pumps & once you have it there no on going
out lay...ie..Co2 powerlets....

Please give up the silencer idea. I don't use a silencer, I sit in the middle of a city so any time I have to worry about the cops showing up I get out my 20 buck bb rifle and give it to them if they ask for it. It's a lot cheaper than serious fed time for getting caught with a silencer.

Thanks for the info, I have a lot to look at now. I'm even considering buying a silencer. They are legal in indiana with proper registration, and apparently there are no airgun laws in Indiana except you can't shoot from or across a road, or into a public area. I'll keep my crossman to hand over if I get in trouble.

The laws prohibiting silencers is federal not state or local so the state or local laws so if the state says you can have a silencer you would still have fed problems.

What model Crosman do you have? Might be able to achieve what you want with that.

If you want "silenced", best bet is to get a maurader.
