Well kids,

I'm thinking about getting a carbine. Several different reasons. I mostly want to use it for plinking and paper punching, and the gun should also be easily handled by a girl that's 5 ft tall. Mr. Green

I am thinking springer, at least 12 fpe, but other thoughts are welcome too. The Diana 31/34 is to long and front heavy. That's as much as I know. Wink

I would think that the obvious choice is the Crosman 2250B..still some in circulation at retailers, even though production has ceased..there's also the custom version available through Crosman's custom shop. very short with a 14' barrel and light..less than 4 lbs.

Woops, should've mentioned, no CO2. Razz And I've seen enough of Crosman for a while so...

Still, thanks for the suggestion, a Disco based carbine IS one of the things I have in mind.

Get a 34 and chop the barrel?

HW30S?

Why does it need to fit a 5ft woman? I thought you were taller than that? Laughing

I think we would all benefit from a photo of the 5' girl, just so we can, um, er, make appropriate carbine suggestions.

Maybe a Slavia 630 with a slightly chopped barrel? (The stock is already built for a smaller person.)

Fritz, you are a very ugly girl, so hush. Razz

The HW30S is a bit to underpowered. 34 has the power but chopped they look crap, and it'll be a b!tch to cock.

Only with her permission. Wink

A B-26 would be a bit more cost efficient on that matter.

My heart says BSA Lightning XL, .177 at 12Fpe, but she says 22xx HPA at 12 Fpe... Rolling Eyes

Any other ideas?

Well Broom, if your lady friend doesn't get what she wants, you won't be getting what you want... eh?

How about a Crosman 1377 with Crosman 1399 shoulder stock and converting to a 14.5 inch 2250 barrel. This would require a bolt from a 2250,barrel band from a 2289, and 2250 bolt O ring. That would up pellet size to .22 and give you a carbine. This can be done for under $100 and $50 more would get you the mods to hit 600+ fps.
