I have a Diana Air Gun 177 Pistol Made in West Germany. When I shoot a pellet, The Pellet Hangs up at the End of the Barrel. I have tried new pellets but the same thing happens. When I clean it with a Patch and a rod, A Rust Type Substance appears on the Patch. Its also a Mod 6.
And Now when I fire it when there is no pellet in it, It shoots out a rubber like Substance.
Thanks, Grandpaman
Does anyone else have this Problem??? Any Suggestions??? |

Jay Axelrod has tuned almost all of my match pistols. Diana, hyscore and FWB all much improved. |

A Model 6- that is one of those Diana break-barrel pistols with a dual-piston setup, correct?
I think they had a couple of models- a early "standard" version and a newer target/match version(?)
In any event- that rust-colored stuff coming out the barrel is probably just that- rust. Keep using the cleaning rod and some patches soaked in rust penetrant (like a PB Blaster or such) to try and get it out. If it's bubbled up heavily inside the barrel then you may have a bigger problem.
The rubbery-stuff coming out when you dry fire it is likely one of the seals- if it comes out like this every time you fire it- probably a piston seal- which once it's coming apart- power will disappear and eventually it won't shoot at all. If you can get the cleaning rod through relatively easily (as in it's not any more difficult at any point in the barrel than the rest)- your whole problem may be the disintegrating seal- small bits of rust in a barrel will typically get worn off as you shoot pellets through it.
So- where can you get parts for a Diana? Based on your IP (only the Moderators here can see it) you are in the US and I would assume Umarex USA (formerly "RWS" who was/is the US importer and warranty service provider of Diana guns) could help, or at least direct you to somewhere that could:

As for tuning- J. has probably given you a good guy for tuning the gun to improve it as well if you don't want to work on it yourself.
You may also be able to use more generic "hardware store" seals if you take the gun apart to see what's bad where. |
