Hey guys just wanted to give a quick shout and introduce myself. I just recently got my first "real" airgun and have become absolutely addicted. I stumbled upon this forum while I was surfing the net and have been really interested in all the info.

I am shooting a stock Gamo Whisper. I live in SW Virginia. I am a gun nut and live in a city which of course I can't shoot a firearm so purchasing an airgun was a fun option.

I knew everything until I said "I do." And (in PCP parlance) the kids bled off even more pressure.

Sometimes I think some of us (Slavia, Bob) actually do know everything. Mr. Green Some very intelligent people reside here.

I like RWS stuff. Lots of people swear by JSB. It really depends on your individual gun. Have you considered trying a sampler pack?

When you say "waaaayyyyy off" at 40 yards, do you mean elevation, azimuth (windage), or both (group size)? By how much?

For .177 pellets I use Crosman hunting (cheap ones in milkcarton box), and RWS superdomes.

In .22 I use CPH, and RWS pointed (rarely).

Welcome aboard, Patman!

For good precision I always test a couple of pellets, like JSB Exact, H&N FTT, etc.

I like the 4,52 mm pellets (which is 0.1779 in opposition to 0.1771) in most of my .177 airguns. Better fit and often much better accuracy. Exacts and FTT's are also weighed and checked for size. JSB's aren't that expensive over here, but that may be a different story on your side of the pond.
