Thats the problem I don't have an M1, I was thinking of using the QB78 stock as a base and adding a bit to the top, which shouldn't take much doing.

Sorry I had to go earlier so I couldn't answer your Q instantly.
Anyways I think it would be best to go for a 1077W if you are going to be replicating the M1 Carbine as closely as possible, Mainly as the 1077W is made out of walnut that is already a similar shape to the M1 Carbine also it is semi automatic and has a magazine that can easily be lengthened to look like the M1 Carbine's 15x.30cal mag, and you may not have to shorten the barrel as the rifle is pretty short anyway and the two rifles are about a similar shape.
