J. has an interesting idea- but I think it may cause an undue amount of "visual confusion" like some of the other designs.

Dan's latest with the "beyond limits" phrase looks good too. Would that work with some sort of shadow (i.e. like a gray or black shadow say pointing to the right a bit? It may not work worth a dang- but it sounds interesting(?) Or maybe the "beyond limits" in a dark blue?

Have we settled on a phrase yet? (I need to look in the other topic to see what's what...) We should probably let the poll go for a day or two to give people a chance to put in the 2 cents worth!

The shadow effect may be the 'visual confusion' although Sherry likes the shadow effect design. I like both designs but the lettering proportions of the 'Beyond Limits' on both seem out of balance a little. Can't quite put a finger on it but . . .

Dan has a great eye for design though and mine was just a 'reference' to work from. When the slogun phrase is settled then the final design with the 'cast shadow' idea could be tweaked some more.

yeah that beyond limits is tough because its so much smaller so the border around it looks a lot darker. but it looks even funnier with no border. i probably just have to fool around with border colors till it matches better.
I also think if we're gonna shadow something it should be the airgunhome.com instead of the slogan since the slogan is secondary, we dont want it to take away from the main title....or we could shadow both

You're probably right- it will just confuse things with shadowing everywhere.

I think what I was thinking was a "movement" effect- like you see on courier trucks- those "speed lines" behind pictures and words to indicate movement- coming in from the right so as to make the phrase look like it's "running" to the left. Maybe that's just way over the top.

Does your edit software create shadow effects? What I did was used 2 similar fonts each with different colors that have slightly different 'stretch' rates.

im using like a 5 year old version of paintshop pro. I can create shadow but i think its easier to just print the text then copy it and paste it on top of itself and just slightly offset it

Sounds about what I did with the different fonts, but like AirgunEric pointed out {and I agree with} there was something sort of 'confusing' about it. I kinda like the effect though, so there must be a way to pull it off without that 'confused' thing happening.

Damn! That looks alot better than I was expecting!

I think that is definitely the one to use. Now we need a couple more days for people to vote on the slogan and we'll be all set!
