I got my daisy 95 sometime in the late 60's, and I was wondering if anyone has any info about this rifle. What was the original velocity of this BB gun? I know that I killed probably 1000's of sparrows with it, snakes, lizards, and occasionally larger critters. It could easily break glass bottles. It was a very well made little rifle that sold for something like $12.
So anyway, about a year ago I was bitten by the nostalgia bug and went looking for something similar. I bought a Red Ryder, and I have to say, I was extremely dissapointed. The RR seemed very cheaply made, had feeding problems that were even descirbed in the owners manual . My 95 never had feeding issues.
It's been over 40 years and that rifle is long gone, but am I remembering accurately? Were those old BB guns that much better than today? I looked at the Avanti 499, which is probably the closest thing to my old 95, but even that seems under powered and has a plastic cocking lever.
I guess it's true that you just can't ever go back home.
