If you have any experience with these two, please let me know the difference. Is the HW as smooth as the TX? HW is almost .7 lbs heavier, so maybe it is more smooth??? Any help would be appreciated.

I have the TX200Hc and it is smooth out of the box better I think than the HW, it has a similar trigger to the HW although the HW is slightly better, as for weight difference it’s not noticeable apart when you have a scope, sling and silencer fitted you can easily push 11lb, of the two I find the TX better balanced for me but that depends on the shooter.

Whichever you get you will not be disappointed, you will have one of the finest springers made.

I'd have to agree with Al, allthough technically the HW97k is a tad simpler and in my opinion that's a good thing. With the right amount of tuning both are serious competitors. You could check out which one is cheaper including a good tunekit. Wink

By "springer" do you mean those like the tx200hc and HW97 are powered the same as my $100.00 Storm? I thought they were like the Crosman Nitro, single stroke but compressing air rather than a spring.. Do they recoil as hard as my Storm?...yeah I know, this stuff is old news to you guys, but it's NEWS to me. I hafta say I'm not having a lot of luck withe search feature. anyhow, thanks for all your help, answering all my #*mb-a$$ questions.

Hi packrat, by "Springer" we mean an air gun that uses a spring to compress air which fires the pellet, other types are Co2 and PCP both of these use a tank or co2 capsule to power the gun, pcp is compressed air and Co2 is carbon-dioxide.

The Crosman Nitro uses a cylinder with a piston inside this is filled with nitrogen gas, in place of a spring

I’m not sure which Storm you have but the Beretta Cx4 is a Co2 powered airgun, where as the Px4 is Co2 powered BB and Pellet gun, and the Crosman XT Storm is a spring powered airgun,

It does help if you state the model as well as the name.

I apologize for the omission.I have a Storm XT. I appreciate the quick/informative response. I asked the question cause I wasn't sure if my "springer" had the same powerplant as a lot of the more expensive/higher quality springer air rifles. For some reason I was thinking that the "top shelf" hardware would be of the PCP variety. Thanks again.

No problem packrat, Your Storm XT and nearly all springers are the same design basicaly, and don't worry about asking any questions, thats what were here for.

I'm to fimillar with the Crosman Storm but it does put out up to 1000fps so it is quite powerful, which depending on what you want to use it for then it could be turned down to lessen the recoil, or get a good tune job done on it, which will make things smoother.

I plan on getting the GRT(I think it is) trigger,,the factory one is NO good.I''l put a post up and see if I can find someone that I can pay to update the rifle, doing all mods available. First thing though is to remove the stock and do a cut-out job on it, then shorten barrel and re-crown..then I'll see about getting it "jazzed up". I'vr sent about 750 pellets through it so fa, liking it more and more Mr. Green
