From all the reading of past posts that I've read here, it's very apparent that there's a remarkable amount of airgun experience and knowledge here- it's amazing !! That said, will someone explain to me how airguns like a TX200HC or an HW 97 can be so accurate with a barrel length listed at 9-10 inches ??...and my Storm XT's barrel length is over 1inches. How is this possible? Is it the rifling quality, or the ratio ie: twist per inch ? This has had me puzzled to the point that I have to ask...I tried using "search" but found no posts that addressed this..Curiousity is killing me..TIA.

It’s all to do with the quality of the gun and especially the action and barrel which is all one piece no break barrel which helps, you will find that all parts are machined no pressed steel bits or plastic, and are assembled for smoothness of action. This of cause you pay for, one other thing because they are machined from heavy gauge steel they weigh around 10-11 ib with scope which helps to reduce the recoil when shooting.

You have to try one against any other springer to see and feel the diffence, there is also the Pro-Sport which is even better.

W O W Shocked Shocked Shocked I just checked out those pro-sports--man oh man I had NO idea there were so many high tech air guns available. Some of those things are truly works of art...I'm gonna start rolling up all my pennies today... I know for now my Storm is good enough, but someday I will have one of the "high-end" rifles...I promise me !! THANKS for the quick response, as usual.

The shorter barrel length can "significantly" decrease lock time. Less "pulling" of the shots.
