Mendoza, the crap de la crap.
You don't want that rifle. Check out how Slavia struggled (yet succeeded) to make one better in the rifle section. |

On the Mexican airgun forum they call them Mierdozas (mierda=sh$$t). And that's from the country that makes them.
My RM577 was one of the RM series that Crosman re-branded before they went to the Chinese B18/B19 design. Granted, that was a few years ago - but I don't think their quality control has improved in the interim. For example, my piston was about 0.020" smaller than the compression tube. None of the flat stock surfaces (butt, top, etc.) were straight or square. The standard Mendoza trigger is very simple, with the trigger blade acting directly on the sear, and sloppy. It's never going to be truly precise, no matter how much you polish it. I'm not sure if this model has the same design, but most of their offerings are the same.
I think one reason that Crosman dumped Mendoza was a product recall to correct accidental discharge upon closing the breech (but only some models).
On the plus side, I have read that Mendoza has truly excellent product support - provided you can get your gun to their factory in Xochimilco. PA carries a number of parts for it also. And who knows - you might get one of the "good" ones that defied their quality control system. That rear aperture sight is decent - roughly equivalent to the Beeman model.
For me, this has been like a jigsaw puzzle. It has given me about 9 months of pleasure in the shop. If you're looking for a shooter, your money might be better spent elsewhere.
Mendoza got its start making machine gun barrels for the Mexican revolution. Today they make machine pistols, airguns, primer-powered pellet guns, and staplers. Oh yes, and don't forget the paper punches. |

| i have not so much as seen one in person, let alone fired/held one, but i seem to recall reading some reviews complaining about the pellet feeding, and that very few pellets worked with it. |
