Decent Targets I've been using

So I was looking for some targets to print off and they were all just thumbnails from online stores so I managed to find a decent target worth sharing and I didnt see anything that really caught my eye in the target section. I prefer the black around the center as its easier to see where you've hit vs white.

With a little doctoring, I've be using these as a standard

Here you go: http://www.kdoubt.net/targets/10m-20m-30m-targets.doc

Just throw the printer on Fast as not to waste ink because of the black bit.

Just printed off a batch and shot at 10m 10 shots with the crossman 2240, no scopes or sights, just unassisted stock sights, free hand.

As you can see, I got about 4 shots thru the same hole just above and right of the targets center.

As soon as I have 20 & 30m to shoot from I'll post up my results. As for now, I dont think the neighbours would appreciate me in their backyard shooting into mine

That's pretty good. Can you adjust the 2240 sights to tighten that up at all?

The targets that are posted in the directory are only a few that I thought were either interesting or functionally useful- but are nowhere near a "comprehensive" collection- so if anyone has more- post them up! Perhaps I will download anything/everything and post them in the 'Targets' directory so they are all in the same place and easy to find.

It looks to me like only the rear sight can be adjusted in an up/down manor. The stray shots were me trying to hit elsewhere on the target aside from the cluster right above the center of the target. Perhaps the sights are set for a further distance? I've not changed anything since it came out of the package. I'll leave the sights as they are and try at 20m to see if it gets closer to the center.

Going to have to find something to put behind it though, the neighbours fence about 30 feet pas the target is getting a bit chewed up

Uh oh- neighbor's not gonna like you.

Hang a piece of 3/4" plywood on the fence- a 2240 will never penetrate that unless you keep shooting in the same place all the time!

Oh its my fence that boarders the neighbour so they have nothing to worry about, but I'd still like to keep things looking good and of coarse cut down on any ricochets. will the plywood absorb the pellet or will there be bounce back?

Not bad shooting for freehand kdoubt, I'll have to have a go at that myself.

Plywood will still ricochet- but if you staple of hang a piece of cardboard in front- it will help minimize this.

Al- No, I have not received any targets from you (or anyone)! Did you send them this evening? The airgunhome email has no spam filtering on it- so the system shouldn't have removed/deleted it.

Never saw them- use the 'admin-at-airgunhome.com' address (replace the '-at-' with '@' )!

I managed to vacate from any populated areas and shot at both 20m and 30m again free handed. I was very surprised at the accuracy. I can now say that the sights are set for something over 10m as the shots are at the correct level now (as you can see from the first target, everything is a little high)

I even did one shot way past 30m, likely about 40-45m and you can see the closest shot to the center is where it landed (holy crap!) I surprised myself

The large holes at the top of the targets are where I used a broken branch to hold them in place.
