Hi guys.
From curiosity I would like to know:
Only from experience (no numbers) wich .22 pellet seems to be the most aerodynamic, hold its trajectory and power best ?
Sometimes numbers do not tell the whole story. |

I'll post something in a week.
In the past I used Superdomes rather succesfully in an Armagnum 850. I hear JSB Exacts are pretty good too. |

I like Super Domes also they are cheap, and AA Field similer to Super Domes but a bit more consistant in manufacture but cost a bit more.

From personal experience: RWS super point. For me, the points and hollow points (both RWS) shoot to exactly the same POI at 40 yards, and probably any other distance.
For overall performance: JSB exact. Period. They are just about the #1 pellet for medium to long range hunting or match work. Incredible quality control and design.
For when you just need to get it done: Crosman Premier HP. Although they act like a domed pellet having only a pinhole in the nose. At point blank range into a groundhog skull, the nose actually wanted to collapse in on itself rather than expand. The pellet does have a nicely designed nose for a great BC. Can't beat the performance for the price. |

JSB Exacts are the only pellets that I can kill beer bottles at 200 yards with in either my EBR Disco or my HPA 2260 Carbine... Both guns will toss them down range at over 900 fps and be right on target.
JSB Exact Heavy work great with cross winds... Both guns will push them down range at just under 900 fps.
The work even better in ThatGuy's Talon... You can really push the sound barrier with the Heavies... But they get kind of squirrelly if they go trans-sonic... So if you go super-sonic… you need to hit your target before they slow down to the barrier…
At super-sonic… 225 yards is our max range to target with the muzzle velocity of 1250 fps.
At the average temp and altitude of the pit (Shooting Range)… the speed of sound is 1062.61 fps
Guy and I have spent quite a bit of $$$ on various pellets to find the perfect pellet for each of our guns… JSB Exacts came out on top each time on each gun.
BTW... I wish we could find a flat area to shoot at... After 120 yards at the pit... it's all up hill... |

Joe, how do you measure the "uphill" distance? Remember your geometry class? No I didn't think so.
I would make use of a level, plumb bob, graphing calculator and a good range finder. If you have a high quality mil-dot scope then you could probably accurately measure distance using targets of known size. Long range shooting gives me a hardon.
One shot, one beer bottle, one drunk redneck, maybe a hit. |

I don't shoot targets at more than 50 yards with either my D34 or the Super Streak. So I wouldn't know long range much, but I like to science behind it.
My being cheap also keeps me from buying JSBs or Beemans. CPH, Super Domes, and big-box Crosman pointed work just fine for me. |

Hey Fritz, Laser Range Finder does the trick...
When setting up targets... We aim the Range Finder back at the Ez-up tent that we shoot from...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UbhoXT11fQ
It's 3 beers & 3 shots each... Then you have a couple of drunk Rednecks with 6 new targets...
Now keep your pup tent in your pants...
This is looking back down from the 400 yard marker...
It's a narrow window back down to the flat land...

| Joe, does your range finder account for angle of elevation or declination? |
