I think the 2240 is a decent gun- the fact that it still has some brass and steel parts in it (like the trigger assembly) is a real bonus- what with Crosman making more and more guns nearly all-plastic.

Any specific plans for it?

throw on a steel breech, 24" barrel, shroud, custom stock, trigger, bolt, lots of valve work and you will have a great small game gun

god i miss mine

Well first I'd like to shoot it :D

This is my first gun, and I might want to keep it as it is.

However I was considering changing the grip to something a little nicer, and I can see the plastic bit wearing out. Other than that, I think it'll stay as it is. I'm in the city, so bringing out a rifle size gun in the back yard probably isnt the best of ideas.

What- you don't want your neighbors calling the cops on you or something? Naughty

kdoubt,

You can get some nice cocobolo grips straight from Crosman.

I agree with you about not messing with it until it is out of warranty. Then, modify it! :D

$53.26 USD direct from Crosman.

You can get a matching trigger shoe direct from Crosman, too, for around 7 bucks, USD.

The website you initially posted- www.businessvision..."- is actually "Trail and Marker" which are the Canadian Manufacturer Representatives for Crosman- meaning if you call them on the telephone- they can get anything Crosman offers/carries- even if it's not listed on that website. I have no idea what Canadian pricing on those pieces would be, however.

Half the cost of the gun in the grip :P

Looks good though. I'll consider it.

I've gotten around to shooting it, and I'd like to share my first impressions.

Initially when I got it, I didnt like the look. There are definitely prettier guns out there... well, just about all of them are nicer on the eyes. However it definitely grows on you. Sorta looks like a Luger if you can immagine hard enough. First time I loaded the CO2/pellet and pulled the trigger, I was surprised at how loud it was. This being my first gun I have nothing else to compare it to besides a pellet rifle a family member has (non CO2). The grips are loose and feel very cheap in your hands, almost like a toy water gun in some regards.

The positives are that its dead accurate, impressive calibur, and destroyes anything youre shooting at :D

I'm sure as I learn more and shoot more I'll have more to say about it. Cant wait to take it out again!

I bought my first 2240. I saw so many mods to the pistols so I want to as well.

I would like to convert to PCP in the future, but want to make a steel breech, try different springs and different barrels.

Big bore would be interesting to try as well.

Doing anything to your 2240?

How accurate is the pistol with the longer barrel?
Where did you buy the barrel?
Do you know what the FPS is?

Looks like you have a laser dot aiming system?

Did you look at sandman's big bore collection?

They're all based on the 2240- although they don't have very much left of them from 'out of the box'.
