Had this issue before with Crosman 2240's and aftermarket breeches, so I use red dot's with a single mount on them ahead of the loading port.
Now I've got a Discovery with the same issue, but don't want to use a red dot on it.
So- I'm trying to figure out how to move the scope mounting forward, ahead of the loading port, but don't think any "off the shelf" parts will work here. Would also like to try and avoid custom-machining a mount (similar to the Crosman 459MTC) to clamp on to the barrel, thereby allowing one scope mount to sit on the breech, the other on the barrel-mounted piece. This of course would also involve using a long eye relief pistol scope that is long enough to accommodate the space between the mounting points.
Anyone ever find a/another workable solution to this? |

Would anything like this help Eric a reach forward or backward mount?

Al, you could have just posted nothing and left your signature instead of loading up a new picture...
What about HIGH mounts? That would give more room. |

| The angled mount is an idea- unfortunately to work on this silly breech setup I would need to put the scope ahead of the port, but perhaps a mount like that with an extreme extension would work... |

I'm using Burris High Rimfire rings on all my Cr. steel breech guns. If you note the padded cheek rests in the pics of my rifles- it's a fairly workable solution for me. Loading is easy in .22. I still have to take a bit of care in .177, but have gotten very used to the set-up...
