Air Gun Home Forum Index » Rifles » Daisy 856?    View previous topic :: View next topic  Daisy 856?   Posted: Thu Aug 13, 2009 10:34 pm Thurst Member Joined: 11 Aug 2009 Posts: 22 Location: Virginia I have a Crosman pumpmaster 760 as a rifle now, it is not very accurate but I can pick up a Daisy 856 from a friend for 20 bucks or 30 w/ scope. I know it shoots faster and it has a rifled barrel so it will be more accurate but is it worth it to pick up and maybe get rid of the pump master then try to do some modification to get either more power or more accuracy? I don't hunt, but it would be nice to have the option; I don't hard core target shoot, but it would be nice to have the accuracy, so far all I do is plink. What modifications could be done to improve on either of these aspects? (I'm new to air gunning so sorry if this is a dumb question) _________________ Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice, ammo is cheap life is not. If you want to hunt or target shoot- you are going to have to go a bit more "upmarket". Not that this means spending a pile of money- decent rifles can be had for $100.00 for basic tasks, some very good rifles can be found used for $150.00 If hunting, what is it you would be hunting? _________________ ` I'd say "I care." I may try to sell the Pumpmaster and get something a little more highpowered whats a good power thats in that 100 to 150 range?
