I think I have narrowed down what I want but wanted to see if anybody has any other recommendations. I am looking at a decision between a Browning 800 mag and a Diana LP8. Both guns appear to be very similar except for the $100 difference in price. I am going to use this as the final purchase for my airgun lineup for a while and if the Diana is significantly better, I will go with it. I am also open to any suggestions of similar guns that I may have overlooked. Thanks for any additional/first hand info anybody here has in advance.
Oh, also... Would the .22 version of the Browning be worth it? If so, that might make the decision for me as well. |

I just got a Beeman P11, .177 (similar to the P1, but no dual fps mode, and has ergonomic grips).
I'm still learning to shoot it and finding the right pellet but it's rated at 600 fps. Similar in build to the Colt 1911.
Very pricey though. |

The sense I get is that the LP8 is more enjoyable to shoot and better made than the 800 mag, but I hear you about the .22. It's tempting.
I guess it depends on your purpose. If you plan to do a lot of hunting, I'd go with the .22 mag. If mostly plinking and less hunting, I'd go with the LP8.
Perhaps this will help: I've not heard anyone being disappointed with the LP8, but I have heard some who feel the 800 mag isn't fun to shoot and can have quality issues.
Whatever you choose, you'll have fun--I don't think there's a wrong choice here. |

JustMatt,
I have the Browning in .22, and so far I am happy with it. It is currently having an air-pistolsmith lapp the barrel for greater accuracy, as well as install a Millet red dot sight. When I get it back I'll post a full report.
