Ok, so this is my first attempt at a " custom paint job " on an air rifle. But I am very happy with the way it turned out. I wanted to go with a Military color scheme, but not the typical camo pattern you always see. So, anyways Heres what I came up with

( Keep in mind Im new to the Air Rifle scene. But I am addicted. Its my new passion/hobby and skies the limit from here... )

( Also added a 3-9x50 scope )

HW30 Before any alterations

After a light sanding session

2 coats of Military Beige color ( Base )

after I cut out 36 different shapes in strips of masking tape, I layed down Olive Green

The stock, after peeling off the tape peices

The new an (somewhat) improved HW30

I dunno man, maybe its just the artist in me speaking, but I think it is lacking in both the aesthetic and practicality department, no offense. Laughing

And here is why. Aesthetically it is just a green and white tiger stripe pattern. Looks sort of cool, but not spectacular by any means. I guess I don't like the curved horn stripes. Needs more style in them. And the black barrel and scope clash with the scheme.

Then from the practical stand point, the white stripes almost attract attention to the gun, so its not effective as camouflage in that respect. Light colors should be countershaded on the bottom of the rifle, not the top.

I will say that it was well done and is clean looking. Most of my paint jobs on my rifles are not meticulously done like this. So I give you an A for execution, and a C for looks. Razz

Well its not " white ", its a tan tone color lol! But I appreciate your reply. I just wanted something neat with this rifle. Wasnt really going for practicality. Just fun. This is my first real air rifle. I am planning on buying a nicer one in the next couple weeks, and this will be handed down to my 9 year old son. He loves it! lol

On my next rifle I plan on doing a Black / Grey digital Camo or something.. I dont know ::: NOW ACCEPTING IDEAS :::

And I do get what your saying, I would never take this out in the field to hunt with lol

Dude, you're doing a gray digital camo AND a tiger stripe camo?!? Those are exactly like the last two that I've done! Check my stuff out if you haven't already.

Also, that tan does look white to me, but it may just look different online. However, I bought two cans of spray paint that I wanted to be beige and off white. And both of them look virtually totally white.

Im going to see if I can find your posts now. They just look white in the pictures, I wish you could see it in person. Its like the tan color you see in desert themed camo. I wouldnt use white, thats too much even for me lol. It actually would make a good field hunting gun if I doctored up the scope / barrel to hide the shiny black lol.

One thread is called camoing the cx4 and the other is called The Tiger.

Digital camo is really hard though, and time consuming.

Winter Camo is cool. I tried it and since I'm a clutz, it didn't work for me yet. I got some project here I'm still working on though... Neutral

I think it looks fine. It's your rifle, right ? You can do whatever you want with it. That's what this forum is all about.

I noticed that this version of the rifle has the Rekord trigger. KEEP THIS ONE ! It is excellent.
