I was thinking of getting a GRT-III trigger and a Leapers 4x32 Compact Mini CQB Scope: http://www.leapers.com/pages/optics/5th_gen_series_scope_scp_432ml1w_c.htm Do these sound like good choices, or is there something else I should look at? This is really a "get a better gun" or "get a bunch of accessories" question I guess! I'm just going to be plinking and target shooting. Sorry for the confusion, I meant should I get the trigger and Leapers scope OR maybe just a more expensive scope/gun. And I think I'm already addicted to airguns! Welcome to the forum! Most of the Crosman break barrel guns are really the same thing, with different stock, sight, and caliber configurations. I have the G1, and I enjoy it. I bought mine off the clearance rack at Walmart as a project gun, but it was not too bad out of the box. (Except for a terrible trigger, a barrel pivot that kept loosening up, and a mediocre scope.) I would definitely get the GRT-III trigger. I made my own parts, but they do the same thing as the GRT. It will transform the gun. Get the trigger first before any other mods. The barrel pivot problem may or may not happen to you. There are some simple corrections that will fix it, so don't let it figure in your decision. My mediocre scope came with the gun, and you can do better. A one piece mount is a good idea. Definitely get a scope rated for springers - they have bi-directional recoil that will shake a normal scope to pieces. I would also heartily endorse an adjustable objective lens (AO). A mil-dot reticle would be a plus, but the AO lens is almost a necessity. Check with Leapers to see what they say about putting that Mini CQB on a springer. Be aware that a spring-powered airgun will take 800-1000 rounds to break in. It will also demand a slightly different "hold" than a normal firearm, and you will get that down during those 800-1000 rounds. Airguns can also be fussy about which pellet you shoot, so you will also be figuring that out during that break-in period. My advice would be to get the gun, get the trigger, and start shooting. For sure get a scope, but take some time researching it. Take a look at the parts lists - there will be differences in springs, sights, brakes, stocks, etc., but the major components are the same.
