The BS Topic area is open for anyone to see. As everyone knows- we ask as part of the registration process that people confirm they are 18 years old or older.
With a couple of recent events: Stevie getting a nasty-gram from someone who has never registered about some of the posts in BS, and an email I got back from someone who registered and stated they were under 18 years old (so they got a form emailed to them that their parent/guardian needs to fill out) and they sent back a "Sorry, my mistake, please delete my registration"- meaning they are a conscientious sub-18-year-old, or something offended them.
Just so there are no misunderstandings- there is nothing in BS Topics that can't be found anywhere (and alot worse to be found most places) but some of the images and jokes could be considered a bit "racy" for some.
So- I'm wondering if the BS Topics should be "hidden" like the Maintenance and Modifications area and only visible to registered members? That way if someone agrees they are 18+ and an adult and then decides they don't like some of the posts in BS Topics- they can either be an adult and ignore them, or flake off- but there can't be any real issue about them not being warned.
So- please cast a vote and if you like, write anything you think relevant.
Thanks,
Eric
P.S. I'll have the poll run for a week to see what people think (i.e. it will stop taking votes by July 15.
Edit: August 2, 2007. Post "de-stickified". |

H AirGunEric
Sorry for the late vote but I had to give this a good think before I voted.

Maybe they noticed one of the spammers post before it was deleted, It is quite understandable that they would have been offended by this, If it was the case.
Lastly, I think scientists should start developing a cure for this votephobia!!

I should have posted something in here earlier- but the poll (with only 4 votes- I abstained) was a 50/50 split. As such- BS Topics will remain open to the public for the foreseeable future... |
