I've been thinking about this pattern for awhile now and today I finally decided to just paint it. Went out and got some spraypaint at Wallyworld and taped off the SG9 with packaging tape. It went pretty smoothly. Lots of pics for ya'.

Roger, that looks pretty darn cool! when I was a kid I used to draw a shotgun with tiger stripes which I baptised "the Tiger-gun". You just made my dream real. |

If I could do it over agian, I'd probably use hot glue, in place of packaging tape, to design the black stripes. Tape is too hard to work with and makes for only sharp lines. Real tiger stripes are more fluid. I think that you could "draw" them on with the hot glue, and then once you paint over it, it should peel right off fairly easily.
Also, I think that dusting the top of the gun with one final coat of light brown spray paint would make it look more realistic.
I may do another one like this and try a different technique. |

Drawing them on with an airbrush might work really well. That way you can adjust the softness of the edge, you have to have a steady hand though.
That siad, looks great as is. |

come to think of it, you could airbrush the softness on the border now that its painted. charcoal/black or dark redish orange might look cool. |

| The aesthetics aren't my cup of tea, but as always Roger - I admire your creativity and technique. Nicely executed and far from ordinary. |
