??? Has anyone actually looked at the "memberlist"?

We have pages of users with 0 posts that have signed up years ago and never posted. This has to be cluttering something up...

Maybe they are regular visitors and want to show their support by becoming members without really posting anything. That's OK. I have noticed that the number of registered users has nearly doubled in the last year( Eric ?) ; that is GREAT ! It is nice to know that there are a lot of other airgunners out there. Hello and Welcome to you.

In some cases it might be possible that a prospective poster feels his/her project/topic is not worthy of this forum --- I certainly hope nobody is intimidated. I for one love to read about and see photos of EVERY project/topic ; they are all interesting to me. But I can also understand why one might think "I can't top that" or "they've got it covered", given some of the super-technical/comprehensive/innovative solutions detailed herein. Slavia is known for his manic perfectionism. Give him a broken toaster and he will convert it into a DVD player ! And there are others.

A DVD player??? Step away from the bong...

Slavia would figure out a way to make it pop the toast sub MOA.

You may have a point that they could be intimidated... noone should be.

I'm having a little trouble getting past the first trailer before the DVD melts.

If you are out there reading this, stop in and say hello. Your post might provide that one little scrap of insight that helps me get to the main menu on the DVD. No matter what you contribute I get to meet someone with an interest in a hobby I love.

When I first found airgun forums I was in front of the computer more than in front of the sights and using my finger on the key board instead of the trigger..
I also had a lot to learn about our sport, airguns in general, and who and why people like air guns apposed to powder burners.I was amazed to see so many like myself choose air guns over other weapons.
I also found out that posting or being in front of the computer was robbing me of precious shooting time and screwing up my eyes to the point of blurry vision after a few hours behind the LCD monitor. My eyes are bad enough with out helping them see blurry images for hours after sitting doing nothing in front of a computer.
I have moved on to more AG shooting sports which require a lot of practice and you can not get the required amount of time behind a rifle/pistol,trigger B/S-ing on a forum.
I am in Michigan and the winters are brutal to a airgunner.During that time I tend to repair my shooters, shoot the breeze on the forums and dream of the warm summer days I can spend shooting my favorite air guns or riding my motorcycles.
Like today I woke up early and while having a few coffee's I caught up on the latest B/S on the forums I belong too.I also check out the classifieds for a AG deal I just got to have or think I got to have LOL.
It will be ice cold again soon enough,,,why waste my time in the house when I can be shooting, riding my Harleys and enjoying the short summers here in Mich..

Just my reasons for lack of posts

You got a point there Bob. I'd love to shoot 24/7. I'd shoot in my sleep. I have an airsoft target near my TV so I can shoot my little airsoft pistol on the couch.

Hell, I don't care what it is, Red Ryder, .50 cal, my D34, 'Dan, the super streak, or a .22lr. Shooting is fun- period. Motorcycles are also very fun, and it sounds fun to shoot on a motorcycle, but it's a dumb idea.

All the time I spend here on the forum is because I CAN'T be shooting at that time.

I'm the same way. Just love to shoot.

Regarding the members list, I think people sign up for a lot of sites and never commit to them. Think of how many you have signed up for and abandoned.

I belong to many forums covering many topics. In my opinion, forums are one of the most useful aspects available on the internet. Whenever I want to find out about a new hobby or interest or item to purchase, the first thing I do is join a forum.

All forums are different in how they are run and the overall attitude of its members. Some forums encourage new members to post and others are quick to shoot newbies down for asking a common question. On some forums the search function is members only.

Typically, I read more than I post, but it is good to know that this forum seems to be helpful and encouraging to new members!

You have a lot of different types of forum people out there.

Those that just want to sign up just for the sake of signing up.

Those that sign up to be able to read and search.

Those that sign up to read some and post some.

Those that sign up and post any random thought that pops into their heads.
