Ok, so I'm just going to start a stupidity thread and everyday I'll update it with that day's stupidity that I encounter. And of course everyone else is free to do the same.
So today I'm driving home. The speed limit is 35 but I normally go 45, but whatever. So I quickly approach a truck in the far left lane (the fast lane) and they are only going 25...for no apparent reason. The cars in front of me swerved around it, which I did too, but I decided to test this person.
I wasn't actually road raging them, but I got in front of them and put on the breaks and went down to idle speed (10 mph). Surprisingly, despite hardly any other traffic on the road, they were fine with this, and proceeded to stay behind me while I idled down a 6 lane city street. And we are talking absurdly SLOWLY.
After a half a mile or so I could tell the driver (an apparently retarded woman) was becoming confused by all this and began looking around. Clearly this slow person who inexplicably appeared in front of her vehicle was going way too slow for some reason. Imagine that! I thought she might try to pass around me, but I think she got scared and decided to turn off...at which time I resumed to full speed. (Btw, she did have a male passenger so it wasn't like I was picking on some woman by herself.)
It makes you wonder if that person was able to connect me driving inappropriately slow in front of her with her doing that to the rest of the driving public.
More to come in the days ahead, I'm sure. |

So yesterday afternoon I talked to my gf and she said she call me later. Well, she never called. So I called her, repeatedly actually, and left a message but no return call. I went to bed concerned and angry. Today I get up and go into work. I called her again, but no answer. Normally if she misses my call at night she knows to pick up in the morning. But she didn't. I was even more concerned and irate at that point, so I just said screw it, and took off from work at 6am and drove 30 minutes to her house.
She was home asleep and told me she left her phone at work. She said she'd tried to call from her sister's phone but I didn't answer. Turns out, she did try to call, at like 11 pm, which is quite a bit later than normal. But in a strange course of events, I had decided to take a late shower before bed, and she chose the 5 minute period of time throughout the entire evening when I was in dispose and couldn't hear my phone ring.
Now she's all pissed at me for being psycho and angry and showing up at her house like that disturbing her siblings. And I've noticed my friend does that sh*t too. I'll be sitting watching tv for hours and no one calls. But as soon as I go take a piss, the second that stream hits the water, the phone rings. Why these people chose to call at the worst time ever is beyond me, but thanks to people like them, I can bring you this daily Stupid. |

Yes, Roger, your friends and female accomplice are watching you on a live webcam so they know exactly when to call and you can't answer. Stupid bastards! |

Does this count as a daily stupid?
Two Waseca County deputies parked side by side at a convenience store - talking to each other on cell phones. |

Roger, you obviously have some very deep seated issues and we should really try to work through some of this.
Would you like to share with the group why you feel the need to urinate or bathe every time the phone is about to ring?

When my parents are out, and I'm chillaxing with some friends, having a beer, no worries, watching a movie, etc. my family always calls to speak to my mom or dad. The thing is, that it often seems they do this more often when my parents AREN'T at home.
When my parents are at home, in the evening, they don't receive any phonecalls at all. What's up with that? |

WTF...
Check out the add. German for: "Who has the fattest potatos."
And, yeah, Roger, wrong place, wrong thing, wrong time. Been there, done that.
The thing is that everybody does these things, and how many times do we notice it ourselves. |

Today's Daily Stupid
And this is a good one. Well, my supervisor and his boss both got fired today for apparently making sexual and racially insensitive comments to a black guy and white girl who work here. I actually liked the guys who got fired and never had a problem with them. And they joked with the people who got them fired for literally years. I don't really know exactly what was said, but I know these guys, and at worst it would've been a comment said in gest that was taken the wrong way. But to turn on your boss who you've worked under for years and to go to HR and rat them out knowing full well they'd be terminated is just a stab in the back. |

Sniper, keep the cordless near you when yer' pinchin' the grinch... if you're watching "movies" have the mute button near (pause doesn't always engage fast enough ).
My "place of safe learning" is too stupid to move the cameras up a bit outside. Regularly there are 5 people standing under the camera smoking at lunch... bureaucracy at work. |

We have this program at work to look for payments that have been issued to customers. So, you put in a date range and hit "go". Then it takes literally 2-3 minutes to pull up the results. However, the results are alphabatized and only 50 names come up. So it will show page 1 of 7 for example. So, if the person you are looking for is name Lester, you have to guess which page the "L's" will be located on. Then hit go and wait another 2-3 minutes. And if you guess wrong, well, you have to guess again, hit go, and wait ANOTHER 2-3 minutes. Of course they dont' allow you to search for the customer's name, that would be too easy.
The funny thing is that if you are having to look for their payment, it means it hasn't been received by them, so there was a problem. So more than likely, the payment wasn't even issued and won't even show up on the report. So all that guessing and flailing does you no good. |
