I am looking at buying one of these guns.
Crosman G1 Extreme
Crosman Phantom Extreme 1000
The biggest difference I can see is that the Phantom has iron sites.
Any other differences or are these just two variations of the same gun?
Also, give me your thoughts on this gun. I like both the professional reviews and the user reviews it gets on various sites.
For $100, I'm thinking I'll adopt it into my family.
By the way, you guys really are no help in the air gun addition support area. I'm more addicted now than I ever was...and you are all to blame. |

| The Phantom and G1 are variations of the same thing- same mechanics and stock on both. The Phantom has plastic sights, the G1 has a muzzle brake. The caliber may differ depending on which versions you are looking at, and I don't know which scopes come on each. All the same maintenance and modification elements apply to both. |

I'd buy it if I really wanted to spend the $100.
Back to reality... keep your money and buy pellets or something. Or just save it for a much better gun, I have a feeling your 140 would out shoot the phantom/g1 any day. |

It's probably true that your 140 is a better gun, but I can think of two instances where the G1/Phantom might be attractive. First: They're a good platform for tinkering, if that's in the back of your mind. Second: If you want to pour a lot of lead downrange, the G1/Phantom won't tire you out as quick as pumping the 140.
The G1 and Phantom are essentially the same gun. I would lean towards the G1, because I would have more use for the brake than the open sights. It would depend on the kind of deal you get - optics and brakes will go on either model.
I would also add about $40.00 to the price tag - for a replacement trigger. I made my own parts, but my mods and the commercial alternatives all work the same way. I can't imagine my G1 without it. |

I'm not wanting to replace my 140. I've seen what she can do. An amazing gun.
I want another gun so I can go hunting and shooting with my 2 sons.
Also, I'm just looking for something like you said where I'm not having to pump it all the time. I notice my shot placement gets off as my heart rate and breathing increase. After about 10 or 15 pellets with 8 pumps each, my arms get a little tired.
I DOOOO want to fling a whole lot more lead than the 140 will allow me. My arm just can't take it. Wish I was 18 again.
All of this for a lower price ticket. $100 seems nice and the G1 seems to fit the bill.
I really appreciate all of you people. Thanks for this forum and your input and thoughts. |

| I dunno, just cuz your name is Crosman doesn't mean you always have to get one. It's a sleek looking springer though, so I bet it would be fun. |
