I've been working on this awhile.I started out shooting my FWB 300S,but after I acquired a .177 Disco that Rich from Mich owned and was every bit as accurate but half the weight I switched to the Disco halfway thru after adding a BugBuster and a 3 screw trigger job..
My final score was 378 out of 400.Not to shabby for an old man(59)who wiggles all over the place and has the eyes of a mole.
Now on to the Pistol,I'll start that next week.I plan on using a Diana P-5 Magnum with 2-7X32 NcStar on it.I sighted it in last night off a bench and bag. She's dead nuts if I do my part, but the recoil is something to contend with.
I just keep thinking "follow thru Bob" while squeezing off a shot.Hey it seems to work too!!(Smirk)

Better than cans, army men and pill bottles 1/2 full of flour.

Very nice and shiny Bob.

I'm having the same problem as you with gun weight, my TX weights 11lb and toting it around a ft course it getting hard work, I keep looking at the Disco but can’t make my mind up about one, how much plastic is there on one and what is the breach made out of.

Al

Bob, how do you get the targets scored? Do you send them in, or is it on the honor system? I followed the link, but I'm still confused.

Anyway, congratulations, and good luck on the pistol course.

Al, The Disco is only 5.13 lbs .As for plastic parts just the trigger assembly housing, trigger and butt stock are plastic. The breech is steel as is the bolt. The trigger can be made to a very nice action less than 1 lb pull,no travel and no creep.I have pic's and instructions how to preform this modification when/if you need them.
Stock was Walnut but not finished very well, bluing is acceptable but not a HW or TX by no means.Accuracy is incredible I'v had the '22 cal for a year now always leave it charged to 2000psi it does not loose one oz. of air pressure no matter how long it sets..

Good to hear from you Al ,Please tell the Misses Hello and Cheers!

Slavia,
There are always at least two range officers/NRA officals on duty, they call the firing line hot and safe. When everyone has finished shooting there targets they call for all guns to be put on safe, placed on a mat and you must step away from the line and your gun.At that time everyone is instructed to retrieve your target and replace with a new one.Names and date are on your target along with position your shooting ,you then give the target to the officials who score your target sometimes with a measuring tool that checks close to the line shots and they sign it with your score and give it back to you and record what you shot.As you progress it gets harder and harder but the distance stays the same, you just have to take more shots and score a minimum score to advance.

Its just to cool and no way anyone can cheat!!! There eyes are always upon you.Just like bowling there is a foul line don't cross it or your done for the night.

Patches are not the only awards given. You also get a Certificate to hang on the wall for every advancement you make, those are the chevrons under the arm patch.
