As per the "Exploding Targets" thread- I decided to try out the heated, shaken soda can idea.

Can was a full size 12oz/355ml unit heated in a toaster oven to about 85ºF, shaken vigorously and then shot with a 7.9gr pointed pellet from a distance of 30ft/10m. Please excuse the distance from the can in the video- I didn't want my 'assistant' to be anywhere near flying projectiles, and I haven't figured out how to get the video editing software to 'zoom' in on the target.

One note- the exploding can was alot more interesting when viewed through the 4x scope on the gun- the compressed liquid/gas exploding out through the entry hole created a huge spray when viewed through the scope- but it's not too exciting on video shot from the side at 6m/18ft.

Nice one AirGunEric

I loved it when all the spray came of it after it was hit!! And when your daughter laughed!!

Rifle sounds healthy on the vid as well, Which rifle did you use?

The editing wasn't bad at all!! You managed to input some text at the start and the end of the of the vid and the can wasn't too far away from view either, Unlike some of my previous attempts of using a video camera.

Well done AirGunEric!!!

Stevie Thumb Up!

Nice one Eric!. It looks like you got so much pressure that it split the can and released it all at once, but your daughter certainly enjoyed it.

I think I will have to video some crown toppers filled with petrol, and see how that goes.

Hi all

I look forward to seeing a "crown topper" vid from ya Al.

I'm sure Broom will have a lot to say about that!! Laughing

Also, I will be making another exploding can vid soon, I hope to call it "The Lynx Effect" LOL!!!

Stevie Thumb Up!
