Correct me if I'm wrong.... but isn't the 460 even MORE powerful than the 350?.... It is 3 " shorter, but slightly heavier.... and RWS claim 100 fps more in .177 (don't know about .22).... I would think any scope that lives on the 460 would be fine on a 350 also....
The 54 is quite different.... they claim "no recoil" so it should be easy on scopes.... It's a couple inches shorter than the 460, but even heavier.... 9 lbs. plus scope is a BEAST for hunting....

"airgun reporter" has the 350 and 460 chrono at the same power. isn't the 54 a gas ram?
my tech 89 is right up there with the 350 and it's a beast to manage . |

No , 460 has less power (about 30 fps) comparing to 350 .
it has shorter lenght both in "Barrel" and "spring"
chrongraphy shows 460 is as powerfull as 54/52 and near to 350 .
anybody with chrony statistics? |

Thanks rsterne for ur perfect links ,
do u think i ll be more accurate with .177 vs .22 for headshots?(M350)
i need accuracy and least pellet falldown ....it seems that diana54 is quite as powerfull as others but more accurate? isnt it?
when accuracy is concern which one do u suggest?
this winter i headshoted 2 jackals with 350 .22 in 40 yards , and i lost 3 because the shot placement had no imact on scull. maybe hit in face ...any inaccurate shot was mostly because of heavy kick, and also scope twist loose du to heavy recoil .
is .177 (350m) better in trajectory and accuracy?
does diana54 suits me? |

I personally don't think there is any significant difference in accuracy between .177 and .22.... IME, there is MUCH greater difference between 2 different pellets in the same gun....
.177 is used almost universally in FT shooting, but in most countries there is a lilmit on the FPE.... in England 12 FPE, and in Canada 20 FPE.... Once you put a limit on energy, the smaller caliber has a higher velocity, and therefore a flatter trajectory.... True, if you have a hit that would just graze the inside edge of a FT kill-zone with a .22, a .177 the same distance from the center might drop the target.... but let's face it, we are talking only 0.020" smaller radius.... Can you shoot that good?.... I can't....
About the only time I would choose a .177 for hunting is if the gun I am looking at in .22 doesn't have a flat enough trajectory (ie high enough velocity) for the range I intend to shoot at.... and then I would still make sure that the .177 had enough energy and momentum for a clean kill at that range.... Can you tell I'm partial to .22 for hunting?....
The 54 may be easier to hit with because of the lack of recoil.... I have never shot one, so I don't know if it lives up to the claims or not.... I do know that magnum springers can be challenging to shoot.... My experience with springers is that you need to be CONSISTENT in the way you hold the rifle.... and that every one seems to prefer something different.... Some are fussy, some are not.... but no matter what you get, spend the time trying every pellet that suits your use and then use the one that is the most ACCURATE at the ranges you hunt at....

| The 54 isn't recoilless. It uses a system comparable to the FWB300. It's a scopekiller because of that. |

thanks every one
i bought diana 350 magnum .177 ...comparing to my .22 peer , it seems to have much more penetrating power.
i think its not wise to shoot medium-size creatures farther than 50 yards, and equal+less than that distance .177 would have enough power and accuracy to enter and exit scull ...also it seems to have better trajectory in 50 yards . |

Why not the .22? That would technically deliver much more energy into the target compared to .177... You better be using some heavy pellets, or that gun won't be doing full power for a long time. |

| We go over and over that...a .177 doesn't have as much mass to punch through whatever your testing penetraion on, so given the same power plant it will always go "deeper". That's different from damage in a hunting situation. |

A larger calibre often also reduces the recoil. In other words, the larger calibre handles better, and also more efficiently uses the air. |

Yep ..
after my too many tests with .22 and .177 of same power planet(350mag) i got to these points:
1- after 40 yards , .22 delivers much more energy..(not comprable to .177)
2- .177 has flatter trajectory in 50 yards du to lower time reaching the target . |
