Hi guys !
I keep feading about the danger of liquid CO2 entering the valve on a bulked 2240, but what exactly happens if it does ?
I do not see how this could be avoided even when using standard 12 grams powerlet cartriges.
By the way, does anyone sells powerlet cartriges filled with nitrogen ???

How could that happen if the tank is positioned properly? The worst I can imagine is it cracks the valve or seals.

But I think I have heard about a guy making a setup in the past and he was injecting liquid co2 in his valve I dont remember where I have seen this.

If pure liquid co2 would be injected I think you got a Bomb..Danger danger danger..But I am not sure.Maybe somebody will tell us.

If you look over the spiralsol page- the reasons for not doing it are fairly evident- 33% (this is obviously an estimate- could be alot higher than that) for a 10-40% increase in power over a "Co2 vapor powered system" (i.e. a normal Co2 airgun). It is likely to lock up valves so they won't open/fire at all. He states not to use anything with a check valve as it will allow liquid Co2 to remain in the valve and cause issues, etc. etc.

Basically, other than from a novelty point-of-view, if you really look at the information- the whole exercise is a waste of time when you consider the modifications required, the safety concerns and the ultimate end-result if everything goes as planned- a PCP gun to start with would be money better spent.

Back to the original question from Zazu- liquid Co2 can enter a valve in a regular airgun but it is virtually never going to be in a completely liquid form coming from a 12g caplet. It is more likely to occur in a bulk-feed system but will more often result in valve lock (no firing of the gun) than explosion or other harmful ill-effect.

Going on what Eric said, once the valve and such thaw out it should work properly again. Unless the seal completely froze and cracked.
