1) Target to download and print: Week 70; Jan26>Feb1/2009

Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
4) All targets to be shot standing
5) Any sighting device may be used.
6) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
7) 16 shots total, 2 per target maximum. Up to 5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using the Red
8) 15 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 15 minutes-stop!).
9) Scoring is 10 for red, 5 for Green, 3 for Gray and 1 for the white in the target area, Only two hits per target counts. Maximum point count is 160.
10) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
11) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries- but all rules must be followed for each.
12) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
13) An honourable contest for sport- to lie or cheat, is the only real loser. Please keep it above-board!
14) Each competition runs from Monday to Sunday. Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT Sunday.
15) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others

This is almost embarassing. I shot above my skill level this evening. But then again... the new meds have me nice and relaxed. Maybe that's good for my focus...

Also, pardon the orange paper. I've decided to shoot at the mess of left over craft paper we cleaned up rather than just throw it away.

That’s good shooting Bean, you’ve set a rather high base line to beat this week, hopefully I will get around to shooting a target later today, It’s still raining at the moment .

Thats not bad shooting Brutuz there all in the target area, glad you enjoyed it, some targets suit some people better than others and they change each week.

Okay, saw the target, thought I could shoot at these (much better than trying to shoot at lines or intersections or whatever else we have been shooting at.
Not that I mind those targets, its just that I can't see them) Printed out the target for shooting and finally got around to putting it up.

First of all, great shooting Bean!! You really set the bar high. I thought I'd get my butt spanked for sure.
Well, I had a go at it, the first target was great, a 1-holer!! Then, the next 3 targets I had some serious yips with.
(The 4th target, I pulled a Matt Eamons and hit the trigger on the way to settling the sights on the target. Lucky I even hit the paper!!)
Finally got my act together and cleaned the last 4.

Score: 145/160
Time: 7:20 (wasn't sure if it was 10 or 15 minutes, so I shot fast!)

i get my score as 116 not a winner but i am happy.
i was seriously chuffed to see my name on last weeks posting. this spurs me on to try harder lol
snowing at the moment looks like i am going to have a white birthday tomorrow. that will be fun.

i have a question if i may. while a gun is bedding in is it possable for the gun to develops a audiable resonanse vibration. i have checked all screws and bolts and they are ok. just wondered if it was worh taking it back to the shop for inspection. guns working fine regarding accuracy?

ok i was that cold, it froze my brain specifically the area that adds up
new score points on my target 126 is was it should say.

think i will wear a wooly hat the net time i score just in case
look forward to seeing the next target

If your talking about the BSA then it's probably could do with a lube job, the manufactures seem to be a bit skimpy on lubing new guns, or probably some heavy tar on the spring. Is it vibration or spring twang?

PS: BTW Kos I wouldn’t take it apart unless you know what you are doing, The lightning is not one of the easiest springers to take apart/ rebuild, also you need a good spring compressor.
