one round trip to STL and back done, came back here to spend the new year with my wife and grab another trailer.

start loading furniture at 6 am. at 9 i stop for a beer break (yes i drink in the mornings when i dont have to work or drive). i notice some movement in the tree at the other end of the property (65 yards exactly... i measured it Embarassed ) low and behold... its a squirrel... they evidently got bold again in my week long absence. since the only rifle that isnt packed up is the Discovery, thats what i grab. i sit down in my deck chair, load up a 28 grain Eun Jin dome and take aim. breath squeeze the trigger.... a solid MISS!!!! i was about 4 inches low.
so i load another pellet and wait. about 3 minutes later... hes perched in the same spot, giving me the perfect profile shot. this time i aim 3 mil dots high. squeeze the trigger..... and i MISS AGAIN!!!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
i set the rifle down and sip my beer not expecting to see him again.
after about 5 minutes... i notice out of the corner of my eye a shape on a branch that wasnt there before...... wooohoooo the dumb f*cker is BACK!!!
i aim 5 mil dots high this time.... squeeze it off...... and i am rewarded with the loudest WHACK i have heard. he was literally POUNDED off his limb. i walk over... yep hes dead....
the exit wound is whats pictured below, thats part of his heart and lung that is hanging out!!!

sniper, i dont have a chrony yet..... i will very soon thou. i'm sure that i'm sacrificing ALOT of velocity and its probably a tad too heavy for this rifle, BUT.... its accurate and hits HARD, not to mention i have 7 more tins of em to burn thru.

as i mentioned in another thread, this rifle is a wee bit too short for me, so as soon as i get back to STL and unpack some tools... i'm making a spacer to increase the length of pull.. so its a bit more comfortable to shoulder.

you're probably getting around 600fps.

slavia, i'd seen that before, while its trick, i dont think it would actually accomplish what i'm after. i want to make the butt stock maybe 2-3 inches longer. i've got a good hunk of teak floating around here somewhere that i think will fit the bill.
