Every day for a couple of years now I get between 20 and 40 spam emails selling the same old crap- ED "cures", pirated "OEM" software, fake designer watches, fake college degrees and so on. But in the last week or so, the number of spam emails has fallen to maybe 2 a day!
I was wondering what was happening and if it was always just one a-hole sending me ALL the junk and they'd dropped dead or something.

A big part of my job is preventing spam. Our company is continually battling how to fight spam. We locate spammers and suspend or ban them. Also, spam often comes from just one or two individuals who spam literally millions of email users. And eventually those guys get caught. One guy recently was busted for it and then killed himself and his family after escaping from prison for spamming.
So if all of a sudden it dropped off, it means that they finally got the spammer or he for some reason has decided to stop. |

| OK- I stand corrected, the spammer(s) are at it again. Must've been on a vacation or something. This does lead me to suspect it is just one person/organization for the most part... |

I don't get any spam and I've had my same email account for several years. heehee
I use gmail. They have a great filtering system. |

| The problem with "filtering" is that alot of useful stuff gets rejected by them as well. |
