I just purchased a Gamo Big Cat 1200 rifle from Dick's sporting goods and must say...what a difference in velocity, kickback and sound from this beast. I thought my old Crossman Phantom was pretty slick, but this thing is hot for the price. I ditched the OEM scope and replaced it with a Leupold Mark T 21 sniper scope via modified mounting. The scope is red/green back-lit (crosshairs) AND has a built in red dot as well....much better than the OEM 4x by 40mm.

The sound from the PBA (Gold Pellets) is as loud as a regular 22 pistol. That ammo, because of the weight, breaks the sound barrier @ ~ 1200 fps and makes the sweetest "crack". I live at an private airport and next to a large forest area and have no neighbors Smile

I have a couple of questions in regards to this gun. Are there any mods or add-on/replacement parts for this model? I am looking to get a hold of a whole new casing (stock, etc) and replace it with a "thumb grip" type stock and would like to convert the dovetail mount to a rail type mount for extra goodies.

I am looking for the following:

- 3rd party casing/stock w/thumb grip
- 8" + Rail mount kit
- Any ideas, thoughts, issues that you have RE: the Gamo
- Clamp on (over the barrel) bi-pod.

I got a hold of a new .50 cal. Cheytac M200 sniper system kit about a months ago and went shooting at targets at over 2000 meters. Nothing but a jaw dropping experience...this is definitely a forever keep item.

Anyways...if anyone has anything RE: mods or parts for the Gamo, please contact me. Your efforts will NOT be overlooked.

The top rifle is the Crossman Phantom w/ custom sling install. The bottom one is the Gamo Big Cat 1200 with the Leupold scope/red dot and custom made sling attachment.

My new baby. Comes with the hand-held computer/processing system.

That Cheytac is crazy. Twisted Evil
The only way I could break the trigger on that shoulder smasher would be with a lead sled and a remote trigger! Shocked

Yeah...it is one hell of a gun. Fortunately, here in Illinois, they have not banned the 50 cal rifle yet, although they are trying still........It's a beefy rifle and is well worth it.

The max distance I have took (gut shot) was at 1850 meters. You can plug in the data for: distance, x-wind, temperature, humidity, round size and weight, the earths rotation (yep) and a lot more. It then spits out the details on scope settings, etc. Amazing piece of work.

Being a former sniper in the military, I just had to get this one.
