Well that it! ordered a new Umarex Winchester 1894, this will be my first new rifle since 1963, I know its only a replica but I've gone for the long version it output is about 525fps and according to the paperwork it keeps a constant output until the gas is about exhausted, this we did find out when testing one. So when it arrives Hopefully before the weekend I can give it a good trial. Let you know how I get on.

I hope it works well for you. The output seems a bit low for a modern air rifle- any idea why this is?

And I too would like to know why it's illegal in the Netherlands!

Because it looks like a fire-arm.

Oh! so your not allowed replica guns in Holland, is that right?.

Eric the power output is 640fps, the paper work I looked at was for Germany not the UK.

I didn't realize that Germany had significant power restrictions on airguns! Learn something new every day and all that. Any idea where I might find some info (in English) on German airgun laws?

I'm not sure if it was a German site that I got the info from I've looked at so many just lately. they seem to make Winchesters in three powers, under 500fps for Canada ect, 525fps and 639fps so what Country the 525fps is for I'm not sure.

16.5 joule is 580 fps?

According to a reliable review my gun does about 220 Meters per Second. If I convert this to feets per second it becomes: 720 Fps.

Can someone check this for me?

I used this converter:

http://www.nomoreodor.com/meters_to_feet_conversion.htm

(It could be that it's a bit less, because I have a 5.5 version, in stead of the 4.5)

Which version is this? The 7.5 or the 16.5 joule version?

Here's a link to all sorts of conversions- including energy:

http://www.airgunhome.com/agforum/viewtopic.php?t=6

A meter equals 3.2808 feet. So if your gun will output 220mps, that would be 721.78fps.
