One thing about Australians is that their hearts and humour
are always in the right place!

T. B. Bechtel, a part-time City Councilman from Newcastle,
NSW was asked on a local live radio talk show, just what he
thought of the allegations of torture of the Iraqi prisoners.

His reply prompted his ejection from the studio, but to thunderous
applause from the audience.

HIS STATEMENT:

'If hooking up an Iraqi prisoner's nuts to a car's battery cables will
save just one Australians life, then I have just three things to say,'

'Red is positive,
Black is negative, and
Make sure his nuts are wet.'

Nice one

Al

I personally don't think taht Iraqis have ANY idea what they're doing.

My bro's been there, and according to him, in the country side, all the guys do is stand around a bit. Move a few steps. Stand around a bit.

The only thing you'd need to add is a beer, and then they'd fit into US Society, no problem. (Or dutch society, for that matter. It'll be a bit cheaper on them too).

Introduce beer and you would have a bunch of sawed off
Iraqi rednecks running around trying to fight or shoot anything
they perceived as the enemy. Talk about elevating
tensions. It would be like Texas after a big football game.

True. A high school friend was a Peace Corps volunteer in Oman. As a foreigner, he could drink alcohol - but he had to have a license!
