When sighting in a new scope you have just mounted on your rifle how many shots do you take before you touch the adjustment turrets on your scope?? 1?, 3?,5?,10? or more.
The reason I ask is ...Is there a correct way ?? But I'm thinking it would be a strictly personal preference from past experence.
For a long time I would take (1)shot and adjust.I have found this to be no good.In my opinion a minimum of a (3)three shot group is required to settle in the rifle and scope.5 shots is even better.
Now back to my original question" How many shots do you take before you adjust your scope???
Maybe we can learn something here???

I take three shots before each adjustment, but find even after it is set, that depending upon the temperature first thing in the morning, I need to adjust the elevation slightly, and before doing this I give it about three to five shots.
So how people can say that once set there poi never changes, is a mystery to me.

I've had rifles(PCP and springers) change in the time it took me to eat lunch!
But the sun was a factor. When I went in the house for lunch they were in the shade, shooting dead on at 10 meters if I did my part. While away the sun started shining on them and my POI went up 10 mm? I knew the heat would raise the pressure in a PCP what gives in a springer?? I still can not figure that one out.
Howz things across the pond Al?? Send my regards to the Misses,I miss the shortbread and tea my grandma used to make.LOL
Best Regards

The only thing I can think of with springers is the viscosity of the grease on the spring etc, like you said Bob the poi lifts in the sun.
Things are about the same over here as over there, nobodies making anything and the politicians’ just blame everyone else, no change there then.
The wife sends her love, and says you grandmother looked after you to well.
