This cat had been hanging around for 4/5 months. I had chased/throwen rocks at it. I had no idea where it came from "could have been a stray" But when it started coming inside though the cat door at night
Having cat scaps in the kitchen/lounge with my cats/eating there food & marking his tertory by spraying piss over the carpet/lounge suite etc..
I tryed locking the cat door but my cats started craping inside as they couldn't get out. I could never get close enough to him to get it and take it to the SPCA. So I had to do something And I did.
This should have been a REPLY not a topic sorry |

| As for your own cats, consider a litter pan? Saves the rug usually. |

Well, I suppose that doesn't speak well of me as I never let my cats out (healther for them) and I feed the strays that are abandonded by the other people who taught the cats to trust humans....and then dropped them off in a strange neighborhood or simply moved off and left them. I wonder who is more to blame????? The cat or the person who abandonded the cat which had learned to trust the human. Or humans.
Well, what the h**** just kill them and be done with it, right? |

None of this changes the fact that if no one is willing to look after the strays/take them in then something must be done.
I can't say I'm a fan of shooting cats, but if they're feral and a problem, what real option is there- turn them over to the "humane" society so they can linger in a cage before being put down all the while taking up resources that could probably be better utilized elsewhere? Coincidentally, I bumped into a "cat lady" today- 49 cats she claims in her house. She stank, the cats stank and she was going broke trying to pay for food for them all... |

| We got a cat lady at our work. Her life's work is to save the homeless felines in our city. She and another coworker put a big pile of food out on the sidewalk every night which I almost step in every morning. Little do they realize that one or two cats can't eat a GIGANTIC mound of meow mix in one day, so they are really just feeding the scores of birds which decend upon the pile come morning. But since they work night shift, they don't ever realize that the food is being consumed by birds, not cats. |

Hey Eric, tell us more about the crazy cat lady. We had
one when we lived in Woodinville years ago. The county cops
hauled her off to the mental ward. They found a bunch of cats
in her house that had been dead for years. The house was really
nice on the outside with a well manicured yard. But the inside was
hammered from years of crazy cat lady living. |

I haven't gone and looked at her place- but she is definitely a very lonely lady and/or crazy. I'm standing in line at the post office, and this stank comes out of nowhere and then this old lady starts pointing out my greying hair and talking about how hers is nowhere near as grey as it should be because she's 80. I step away to get away from the cat stench, she steps forward and keeps talking- first about "some" of her cats- 3 or 4, then about her children who all live far far away (turns out I've met her son-in-law a couple times who moved to Baja a year or so ago with this woman's daughter) so I mention I believe I have met her son-in-law, so she rambles a bit, then goes on about a 29-year-old cat she owns, then mentions she has 49 in total living in her house and around her property, who keep breeding because the spaying/neutering costs too much. I then recalled a story someone else who knows her son-in-law, telling me her place smells worse than a pig barn and has cats climbing out the ductwork.
The regular postal clerk that knows me then starts calling me over, not so much for a real reason- but I assume to get me away from "cat lady"- who basically keeps talking at me as I'm handing stuff over the counter. I would have let he in front of me to do her thing if the clerk hadn't called me over. Finally she stops, is done at the counter and leaves- and within a minute the stank is completely gone.
I need to find out her address so I don't stumble across the place by accident... |
