Hey folks,
I'm long time airgunner - mid to long range target shooting. Also mostly BB's in run of the mill crossman pumpers and a few CO2 pistols when the mood strikes.
I've been itching to move to something higher quality, more accurate, less (no) pumping between shots. but still suitable for backyard use. I have a good size backyard but also have lots of neighbors who cringe when I sit out back with my CO2 pistols. So, trying to stay away from CO2 for the noise.
Been looking hard at PCP's. I'm not sold on any particular gun yet but these two have caught my attention.
Talon = compact, quite
Logun = multi shot clip (a big plus but at a big price)
So how much louder is the Logun? It has the shrouded barrel but i've not seen it's 'quiteness' touted like I see with the Talon.
Other than the obvious price difference, good and bad? I know about the Talon's safety and some peoples issues with difficulty working the bolt on the Logun (jams, multi pellet loads)
Help me make the a good decision.
Look for me in the target comp soon!!! |

Almost any PCP can be made whisper quiet. I have a 75 fpe
Condor that makes only a hammer click with the right accessory
installed. |

I will say that as a talonss owner it is not quiet. You can have it modified and quiet it down though. I've not done that. Maybe if you fire at minimal power setting it will be more quiet.
Good luck with your choice! |

| What kinds of mods are we talking about? The only thing I've seen thus far for the SS is a spring/washer/o ring stacking in the barrel. Does that count as a homemade silencer? Don't know... |

You can get custom vented barrel bushings for under $50 which are perforated to allow for more air dispersal and a quieter discharge.
I imagine if you did that and the homemade washer/o-ring thing then you could probably cut the noise level in half. |
