You can post your hunting recipes here, for instance for others to see how they can make that gopher just a bit more tender.
Try to make correct and readable recipes like for instance:
Ultimate Gopher Stew!
Ingredients:
- Gopher
- Taters
- Gravy
Instructions:
Cook the taters in a pot (add to your own liking), pour out the water from the pot when the taters are done (make sure you don't poor it over your hands). Put the grilled gopher in the pot and mash. Put this all on a plate and top with gravy.
Enjoy and be carefull to choke on bonefragments! |

HI..Thats simple, Will try that one next time I catch a fish or two.
I usaly cook bunnys in a slow cooker "croc pot"
You can add what ever you like.
Bunny cut in to sections
Spuds - cut in to 1/4
Yams
Carrots - cut into 1/2
Passnip - cut into 1/2
salt/pepper/garlic/herbs spice
I use chicken gravy mix
Cook for 3/4 hours
The great thing with a slow cooker it don't matter what you
put in it always tastes great |

Since I feel responcible for starting this section, I feel I'm somewhat obligated to post. Just not tonight. I've a few recipies I've gotten off the web that I like and few I've come up with myself. The later ones I just have to make again (see if I can repeat the same quality), and jot down all the ingredients and such.
Warning, I do get REALLY funky with seasonings. Hold on for a wild ride! LOL |

Oooh, that's looking sophistimicated.
By the way, from some reactions here, I take it that all that some people around here eat, are Squirrels. |

1. Parboil your varmint 'til he's tender
2. Allow to cool
3. Heat some butter flavored Crisco in a frying pan. Get it hot.
4. Season w/ Lawry's seasoned salt, black pepper, and garlic powder
4. Put some self-rising flour in a paper bag and drop your cut-up pieces of varmint into it. Shake.
5. Drop into hot shortening until golden brown
6. Enjoy |

Sorry folks, I haven't posted for a good reason. Kinda hard to develope reciepies when you aren't in a position to go hunting. My Co2 operated 1077 couldn't hit the broad side of a barn during the cold snaps we've had here in chicagoland over the last 8 weeks.
I could of course cheat, and repost recipes I've found on the net, but that wouldn't be morally right, because I can't actually test them out before hand. |

No worries, Jax. Maybe you can use a CO2 cardridge to freeze dry something. Squirrel-popsicles or anything along that line. |
