I can relate with having multiple avenues of income. If had the cash, I'd like to set up a part time weld shop and foundry.
I was only curious about the computer, because I tinker with animation programs just for fun. |

With my temporary shop set up about 25' feet from here... I don't get much work done... checking e-mails and research online. It's a little too convenient to have the computer that close.... or just bring out the laptop.
The girls cleaned up the big shop yesterday. I finally got power run down there so I am installing more outlets and setting up the work benches this morning. Then I move the equipment down there this weekend. Oh... I ran accros the perfect Steel Bench for my lathe at a garage sale. $5.00. Ugly but solid. I think I will paint it to match the lathe just for the giggles of it. It is just a hair deeper than the lathe with extra room on both sides so when I order the longer bed for it, it will still fit and have enough room to bolt a steady rest to the left of it for longer stock.
I got a new HD rod & flatstock bender that has to be bolted to the floor. Got some cool stuff on the drawing board. Should be fun. I also was given an oldie but goodie wood shaper. I ordered some delrin to prototype with and have a few production items that it will be great for. The big shop press & stand alone belt/disc sander will have to wait till I raise a little more capitol.
I still don't know if my wireless network has enough range. It's about 60' from the house to the shop and the router is dead center of the house. It would be better if it doesn't... less things to disturb me while I work... |
