Hey, might it not look cool if you're actually making it look chrome-ish? |

| "Molygraphed"? Are you lubing it with powder, or a specialized mix you put together? |

I did a lot of the same things to my Marksman 2004. People seem to condemn this gun because it leaks. It is true that in three years I've replaced seals four times, but then I can get the whole set of "O" rings from a local auto parts store for under $3.00 U.S.
I also shimmed the trigger to reduce side-play. Coca-Cola provided the shim stock (diet, not regular). Now that you have the plating removed you can groove the trigger face. I dragged a 10-32 tap sideways with a vicegrip as an edge guide, and then cleaned up the grooves with a needle file.
The rubber grip material is from a 20" bicycle tube. The silver thing in place of the rear sight is a scrap of aluminum with a spirit level. To offset the weight of the red-dot sight, I filled the recesses of the grip with a slurry of epoxy and BB's (only the holes without mechanical activity). The walnut for the grips came from a second-hand store trophy. "Best Golfer Of 1987" I believe. The barrel is also epoxy-bedded. I polished the muzzle and breech crowns, but I haven't done anything to the port. The overtravel limiter is a setscrew with a tapered end, set in a brass machine screw anchor. Teflon plumbing tape keeps it from vibrating loose. The adjusting knobs on the scope are radio knobs plus a few things from the hardware store.
Like others, I had problems with the two rear pins working loose. I made threaded inserts (for setscrews) out of "T" nuts and epoxied them in place. The holes (at least on the 2004) were already there; they just needed to be drilled out a little bit. The fix has held for two years.
The flashlight is new this year. I'm gearing up for the war against terrorist rabbits in my wife's garden. I took four last year without it, so we'll see. It is a Maglite brand, shimmed with heat-shrink tubing, and held by a scope ring from one of those 20mm scopes for BB guns. I cut the dovetail by scraping away plastic with the point of my pocket knife.
I hope you have as much fun with yours as I have with mine.

I like that lower accessory rail. That is a nice touch.
It suprises me how accurate these inexpensive pistols
are. I was nailing bald face hornets at 20 yards almost
every time this morning using an old school desk for a
rest.

I am curious as to what this piece is in the
center of the photo.

I had to go look myself. What you see is just an inside surface of the black plastic that has been scuffed enough to appear gray. The flash and the camera angle conspired to make it appear metallic.
Nice parts diagram. |

Thanks for the great info! What did you guys use to remove the chrome from the trigger, etc.?? It looks so much better without that "flash" chrome on it!
Thanks. |

Chrome can usually be polished off with a metal polish available at auto parts stores- not a chrome polish, but a metal polish (most chrome on airgun triggers isn't terribly high quality stuff).
Powdered molybdenum is available from different sellers on E(vil)Bay- but it isn't terribly cheap once shipping gets factored in... |

True - I grooved the face of my trigger. Once I got a "foothold" into the substrate metal, the plating just flaked off. |
