Hey Guys,
I'm looking into getting my hands on an Air Pistol for target practice, and I was wondering was was the highest FPS Air pistol out there inthe market?
I did some research and did not find much information out there except what is on this site.
What do you guys recommend?
Co2 power, break barrel, PCP?
I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks,

Welcome to AirGunHome Splinter.
One of the best air pistols around at the moment is the Beeman P1 which is a springer, max fps is about 600 on high power, the advantage of a springer is that you can always use it stright out of the drawer, no pumping, charging with Co2 and it shoots in any weather.
Have a look here: http://www.pyramydair.com/p/beeman-p1-air-pistol.shtml

Thanks Alstone! Very good to be here.
The Beeman P1 is probabaly the coolest air pistol my inexperinced eyes has ever seen. And the reviews for it seem to be very positive too.
Sounds mighty tempting....
Anyone else have an opinon to share?
Thanks,

You are in Canada- thus any pistol that shoots over 151m/s (500fps) would be considered a "restricted firearm" requiring a specialized license and registration. You need to think something less than 500fps in order to be able to purchase one without such a permit.
Probably the best spring-powered pistol that shoots below the 500fps mark and is good for target shooting would be one of the Daisy's- either the Avanti 717 or Avanti 747. |

Thanks for the tip AirGunEric!
Fortunately I do indeed have a restricted PAL (Possestion and Aquistion License). Although I was under the impression that the Restricted PAL was for firearms that were 800fps and higher. I could be wrong.
However, if it is considered restricted, and because its a handgun, I have to be a member of a gun club, and require a trasportation permit. Transportation permits are free and can be obtained by calling the RCMP in Canada.
Thanks for your suggestion!

I stand corrected.
Also, here is an excerpt from the link you posted:
"High-powered air rifles are classified as non-restricted firearms. High-powered air pistols are classified as restricted if their barrel is longer than 105 mm or prohibited if their barrel length is 105 mm or less."
Basically that means I need to be part of a gun club and need to get a transportation permit also. (Yay Canada......NOT!!)
Thanks again dude.
Anybody else out there want to post their opinion?

The Evanix AR6 is pretty cool too, but probably rather expensive. |

This used AR6 with 4 cylinders and red dot was about $500, however, the carbon fibre muzzle protector is unobtainium . . .

Hi..The Evanix AR6 is a PCP rifle "I have one"
The pistol in the pic is the Evanix P12 PCP
they do come with a clip on stock version.
PS... if they are anything like the AR6 they
will be a destroyer.
I have a crosman 1088 co2 pistol

Over here they're all called AR-6 no matter what configuration they got. They just add Pistol, Rifle, Thumbhole, or FT to the darn thing.
I've heard about some guys who put a Walther Lothar or a BSA barrel on their Evanix with stunning results. I have to add though, that I've also heard that some of their barrels are better quality, and some are of lesser quality.
They're also said to be leaking air at the revolving magazine. |
