Should a Disco be converted to .25 cal ? The short answer is no... I did it anyway.

Stainless round stock machined to fit a .25 cal Lothar Walther barrel.

Mount it up and take it to the range.

After about 20 shots to lead in the barrel and get the POI close to the POA.
I shot a couple 10 shot groups. Each group was shot starting with a 2000 psi fill.

The first group is with H&N Baracuda 30.86 gr. One flier outside a quarter sized group.

The second group is RWS Superdomes 31 gr. Not as tight as the H&N.

These groups show some potential, more lead down the barrel and I would expect the grouping to get better. However when I pushed it out to 50 yards the groups opened up to a couple inches and the POI dropped around 5 inches. I could see the pellets on their way to the target. 2000 psi doesn't give enough energy to lauch 31 gr. lead pellets with enough fps to reach out to 50 yards.

What was the range on the first groups of shots?

Maybe the next project should be making a new tube to handle 3000psi (and the valve mods to accommodate it as well)-?

The first groups were at 25 yards. I made a second trip to the range and the groups are tightening up the more the barrel gets seasoned.

I was really hoping the Disco conversion was going to be able to reach out to 50 yards, but I don't see it happening.
I've been thinking about going to higher pressures but I'm not ready to spend the money on a compressor or a tank. The Disco isn't to bad to pump up with the hand pump but 3000 psi would be a lot of work.

These targets are from the second day of shooting. With H&N 31 grain pellets a 5 shot group at 25 yards can be covered with a quarter.

At 50 yards the group is about 7 inches below the POA but is tightening up. I have a tin of 25 grain pellets on the way, I'm curious to see the change to the POI at 50 yards compared to the 31 grain pellets.
