This beautiful rifle is in near-mint condition. Hardly a scratch. I'm 68, not new to guns at all. My previous purchase is an Aussie L1A1 FAL (.308)
Update: I took the 630 apart and there is no plunger on the piston.
When using an aluminum cleaning rod shaft to tap at the far end of the 'cocking tube', it feels like hard plastic.
The plunger might be what I feel, because it doesn't sound like metal or look like metal with the flashlight.
Some WD-40 was sprayed deep into the tube, and maybe after soaking overnight it can loosen it enough to screw the tiny end of a cleaning rod into into the tiny hole in the plunger, and somehow pull it all the way out of the tube.
Any other ideas? |

The Slavia 630 used a leather piston seal ('plunger' as you've called it). Once it has loosened up, maybe try using compressed air to blow it out the back of the tube.
You can replace it with a leather seal you can cut yourself, or think about drilling a hole in the center of the piston, then using a modern Gamo or Crosman-type piston seal (i.e. from a Gamo 220 or a Crosman Phantom) along with a countersunk screw (large size, more of a bolt- don't drill or order a screw until you have the piston seal in hand to see how it must mount. Here is the idea:
