I have an old Slavia 622 (which looks near identical to the 618) that I am having a problem with. I took my son out to shoot for the first time and he made the mistake of accidentally pulling the trigger while the barrel was broken. Now I can't "un-break" the barrel, or in other words, close it.
I've read elsewhere that this usually results in the barrel quickly closing and bending, but this didn't happen in our case. I just can't figure out what internal damage may have been done, or how to un-do it. I have it partially disassembled, the issue seems to be where the arm compresses the spring, it won't move it any further. See the links below for images:
Any help or suggestions is appreciated!

What you likely have there is the cocking arm separated from the piston, and the cocking arm 'catch' is stuck in the middle of the spring. Taking it apart and reinstalling the parts is likely your only way or sorting this out (and hopefully the spring hasn't been damaged). |
