I’ve been looking at getting a Crosman Disco recently, although the price over here is $600 including the pump, but what I quite like about it is the fact that it runs at a lower pressure than normal, which makes pumping easier, although not the prettiest of guns its not to bad.
Any comments on quality, accuracy and just general opinions, as they are few on the ground here, and I will have to order it so I need to get it right first time.
PS: Is the Benjamin Discovery the same gun as the Crosman?

If you like the 2260, this is what the design is modeled after. Still tinkering with mine, but is easy to fill with the pump and readily modified with the 22xx mods from the Green forum.
Like this one . . . |

| Benjamin-Sheridan IS Crosman- perhaps in the UK they put the Crosman name on the gun instead of B-S, but it's going to be essentially the same gun except for a 12ft-lb limit I would guess. |

I have been looking around the net and at different mods for a Disco, and one thing that seems to stand out is the amount of plastic used, most of it is no problem as I can replace it with steel, but from photos I have seen the trigger assembly casting appears to be all plastic and this would be more difficult to replace.
There is nothing wrong with using plastic on guns and I know it keeps the price down, but I like steel and would not be happy with it being used on some of the main components.
The Disco over here (UK) is £200 /$400 and you have to buy a pump separately, also the Crosman pump is not available, so you have to buy a hills or something similar at a cost of £150/$300, making a total cost of £350 /$700. So thinking about it I can get a BSA Ultra for £320 plus the pump £150 total £470/ $940 and finish up with a better quality rifle for the extra cost of £150 /$300.
So I will have to give it a bit more thought, the main thing I liked about the Disco was the lower pressure used which made it easier to pump.

| Hey Al, I think a Scuba tank can be had for a lot less. Over here they're available for about 60 to 80 E. You won't need a big tank with a Disco so that will safe a lot too. |

Hi Anton
using a Scuba tank would be allright apart that there is nowhere within 30km who fills them, and with petrol/gas costing £6.00/$12.00 a gallon, it gets expensive, thats why I fancied something easy to pump.

I guess that in that case you could also go for a large expensive tank. Something like 10 Liter.
I understand where you're coming from though. I have a friend who has a Dominator 1250, and his dad pics up Air after work. |
