Well my second gun is a 397. I got it from a local gun dealer at a pretty good price. So far I put 2 dozen pellets thru it. WOW! It is so dang accurate I cant believe it. Maybe starting with a Gamo really brought down my expectations for accuracy from an airgun. At 30 yards+- I put 10 rounds thru a hole the size of a quarter. I'm not exaggerating! 3 pumps is all this thing really need for what I'm doing with it. I would Love to know what this thing chronies at 1 and 2 pumps. Gotta figure how to mount a scope to it though. Thanks to everyone who endured all my questions about that stinkin Gamo. Wink
Kenny

P.S
Next purchase is a Diana 48 Mr. Green
This is a bit addicting isnt it?!!

I'd like to know how you, or whoever, mounted a scope on that 5G pistol. RWS did a fine job of making that gun completely incompatible with any type of accessory. But apparently someone figured out how to unf*ck it.

I know why you love the 397, airsickness.
I've got a 392 and it's a really fine, hard hitting, shooter.
Neither the 397 or the 392 are made for any kind of scope, but I did a
little mod on my 392 to mount a red dot on it. I'm tellin ya, it's deadly and
I am pretty pleased with how the project turned out.

You can see that mod here:

Sorry airsickness, for that omission.
Actually, I considered heliarc'in it, but I'm not real good at that, and I was
afraid I'd melt the brass, or totally wreck something else, so yes, it is
merely JB weld. I settled on that because I figured if bad went to even badder, as it were, I could always knock it off of refinish.
But, like I said, it works really well for me. I have no intention of taking
it off anytime soon.
Also, I can remove the red dot and use the open sights. The mount
sits lower than that so it's no problem.
