These guys appear to have the lowest price on "Chrony" model chronographs- they will sell over the telephone using a credit card, or on Ebay with PayPal and such.

The above link is for their US-based store- but they also list Chrony's and other items with a price/shipping charges to both Canada and the UK.

Above is the link to the manufacturers site- with both US and Canadian list prices. Some people may have noticed alot of retailers charging more than list, some a few dollars less- D&R is WAY BELOW list price on these Chrony's.

There seems to have been some confusion on another forum as to how someone outside the US could get one of these units for less than they would pay (in this example, Canada) in their home country.

Because the seller- D&R is so far below list price and charges a flat post-office based shipping fee- it works out cheaper than virtually every retailer in Canada once all the details are included. Here's the layout which was put up on a Canadian forum when some confusion came up:

The price of Chrony's- the $89.99 that was quoted was US Dollars- the Canadian list is $112.45 from the manufacturer. This $89.99 US price is meaningless in Canada. Go to the website and check- http://www.shootingchrony.com/products_SCMMCM.htm

The price of an F1 Chrony from D&R in the US would be $135.00 CDN to anyone in Canada's door- which includes the price of the unit, shipping and taxes- if the postal service is used- no one pays a "brokerage fee"- you pay Canada Post a $5 processing fee. Work it out- $59.95 US times a 1.17 exchange rate= $70.14 plus taxes at 14% in Ontario= $79.96 plus $5 processing fee= $84.96 plus the $35 US shipping amount (x 1.17)= $40.95 = $125.91 and an extra $10 in case Customs tries to put a duty on it (which they shouldn't). Or, $126 and if customs decides to rip someone off, $135.00 TOTAL.

The price at Canadian retailer LeBaron's of $104.95 is better than list price- but if you don't live near a LeBaron's store, you need to pay that plus taxes plus shipping- so we can make a good estimate of $119.64 ($104.95 plus $14.69 in Ontario at 14% taxes) plus delivery fee- which will be at least $10.00- so the MINIMUM price will be $130.00 CDN (taxes have to be paid on a domestic shipping charge in Ontario).

Despite the fact a chrony goes from Mississauga, Ontario, CANADA to the US and back again to Canada is irrelevant when the seller is charging almost 1/2 the list price and has a flat USPS shipping rate. Look at the prices of the more deluxe chrony's they're selling at D&R- a Beta Master is $99.95 US plus $35.00 shipping to Canada- the Canadian list on that is $168.95 plus tax plus shipping- so after it's worked out, it comes as an even better deal than the F-1.

I was thinking of getting the Combro unit that Nikkonos has for sale at hie "Olympic Marksmen Equipment" E-Bay store, it attaches right to the muzzle,,anyway's I've heard good things about them, and the price isn't bad at a comparible $89.99. Any owner's out there? that would care to give me a sit-rep on the accuracy, I've heard from Al, that they're quite accurate. Cheer's, Andy.
